Google Reveals 2016 Most Searched Smartphones In Nigeria (See List)

In Google’s ‘Year in Search’ for 2016, Google revealed the top 10 most searched Smartphones in Nigeria, and unsurprisingly, Infinix and Tecno dominated the search.
The top Smartphone that Nigerians searched for is:
The iPhone 7!
Android fanboys won’t like this.
The Infinix Note 3 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 also ruled 2016’s smartphone search.
Other players include Tecno Camon C9, Infinix Hot 4, Tecno Boom J8, Infinix Hot 2 (WHAT?!), Infinix Zero 3, Tecno W4 and the Tecno W3.
I’d assume that the current economic situation in the country has made Nigerians search for cheaper alternatives, hence the reason Tecno W4 and W3 are in the list.

As Nigerian troops took over the stronghold of the boko haram terrorist. Their leaders are currently on the Run. One of the fleeing leaders recently dislodged in Sambisa forest in Borno State was arrested on Saturday in Ikorodu area of Lagos.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai disclosed the arrest on Sunday at the re-opening of two major roads in the state closed since 2013 at the height of the activities of the insurgents.

NAN reports that the roads are Maiduguri-Gubio-Damasak and Maiduguri-Monguno-Baga.

Exposed: Jide Kosoko Sacrifice His Three Wives For Money Rituals ? Read This

Veteran actor, Jide Kosoko, has finally opened up after he was accused of using his three wives for money rituals by Kemi Olunloyo. Kosoko said that since the death of his wife Henrietta, some months back, things have not been all fine.

While addressing the allegations by controversial media personality, Kemi Olunloyo, who alleged that the actor used his three wives for money rituals, the actor in an interview with Punch said Olunloyo's father had begged him to forgive the daughter.

Kosoko said: “I do not want to go to Kemi Olunloyo’s issue because the chapter is closed. I do not want to dwell much on it because when people approached me and informed me of what she was saying, I said she was entitled to her opinion. She was voicing out, what about those that would not say anything but in their mind, they would say that I have lost about three wives? They are only being human but the truth is that for Olunloyo, that is her opinion no matter how hurt I might have been with her utterances. By my nature, there was nothing I could do. But I appreciate her father who called me and apologised. He said some other things that I may not be able to share with the public.

“When she said all those things, I really did not reply because it is not in my nature and that time, I was mourning so her case was secondary. I am still mourning so there are very little things I want to say.”

Punch further revealed that Kosoko was accused of not paying the bride price of the late Henrietta. To that allegation he said, “I did not pay her bride price and she stayed with me for 22 years, does that not mean that something is wrong somewhere? The burial ceremony plans did not change suddenly. The plan since the day she died was that she would be buried in her hometown. I told them that I wanted her to be buried in Lagos, it was a case of give and take and my family being a deeply cultured one said that we should give them an opportunity for them to bury her at home. You may not know, there may be someone in the family who may think there is a foul play and would want to do anything to confirm one or two things, so I could not really stop them. She belonged to all of us but more to me. I embrace peace and nothing happened at her hometown, it was a normal catholic burial,” he said.

“Forget about what people said. My late wife was ill and she died of complications which arose from diabetes. My friends, family and colleagues stood by me and I appreciate it. Of course, you will always have one or two persons that would say one or two negative things but in my life, I have fought so many wars and I have won all of them; so it is only someone who wants to be crushed that would confront me in war because almighty God has His plan for me. It is quite unfortunate that all these things are happening to me but I still thank almighty God because there are reasons for everything.”

Kosoko also disclosed that he still misses his late wife.

“I miss everything about her, yes, she was human and she had her flaws but I must confess I would miss her for so many things. She was my companion because we were in the same profession. She was not only my wife but we were in the same industry together. I still dream about her but it is mostly based on my imagination. How I hope she was still alive. I would miss her food because she was a fantastic cook.”

Busted! Notorious Arm Robbers Caught During Operation In Rivers State (Photo)

Suspects

Three armed robbers were caught on Thursday by operatives of the Rivers State Police Command who foiled what would have been a major bank robbery in the state.

According to reports, the security officials stormed the bank and arrested the bank robbers at a new generation bank located at Eagle Cement to arrest the suspected hoodlums.

The hoodlums were said to have opened fire on the advancing police team led by a Divisional Police Officer, Felix Nnebue. One of the SARS operative was injured during the gun duel that ensued between the robbers and the policemen.

The suspects were arrested while they were using a gas cylinder to cut open an entrance into the bank.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Nnamdi Omoni, who confirmed the incident to newsmen in Port Harcourt, said the bank robbers were arrested at about 2am on Thursday.

He identified the three suspected bank robbers (all males) as Samuel Nwara (28) from Igwuruta town, Kaaly Taagaba (28) from Kpong, Khana LGA and Lucky Ukwuoma (26) from Etche LGA.

“Today (Thursday) at about 0200hrs, upon a distress call that there was a robbery going on at a new generation bank at Eagle Cement, Rumuolumeni, combined team of SARS and men of the Rumuolumeni Police Station led by the DPO, Felix Nnebue stormed the scene of the robbery.

“On sighting the police, the robbers opened fire on them, a situation that led to an exchange of fire. At the end, three armed robbers were arrested while one of the SARS operatives sustained gunshot wound. He is currently receiving treatment in the hospital,” he added.

Explaining that the suspects were helping the police in their investigation with a view to arresting others on the run, Omoni listed one cooking gas cylinder, one handsaw, one chisel and two Ghana-must-go bags as items recovered from them.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Francis Odesanya, wishes to assure the people of the state that the Command under his watch has vowed to relentlessly fight all manner of crimes in the state.

“He (Odesanya) has promised to make Rivers State safer, especially during the Yuletide period and urged the public to have confidence in the police and continue to share information with the police,” Omoni added.
